How the Blend Math Works

A premixed blend keeps the same component proportions throughout the solution. The calculator uses the amounts entered for each component to determine those proportions.

Add the Components Add all component amounts to determine the total mass represented by the blend ratio.

Find Each Share Component amount ÷ total blend amount = that component's percentage of the blend.

Apply the Ratio Total amount entered × component percentage = the amount attributable to that component.

Fixed Ratio Matters

Components in a premixed vial cannot be independently changed by drawing more or less of that same solution. Increasing the total amount increases every component in the same fixed proportion.

Before Calculating

  • Enter the exact component amounts printed on the vial.
  • Keep component vial amounts in milligrams.
  • Do not assume similarly named blends use identical ratios.
  • Recalculate whenever the blend composition changes.
